Fred W. Wells Stadium is the home of the John Randolph Tucker High School Tigers football team. It is named after the former athletic director of the school.
On September 28, 2007, JRT suffered its worst loss in history, a 61-0 loss to Patrick Henry.
On November 6, 2009, JRT defeated Patrick Henry, 35-28, in a thrilling overtime game in which Tucker was down by a touchdown and then tied the game with 49.6 seconds left to play, then caught the go-ahead touchdown in overtime on triple coverage, then intercepted what would have been the game-tying touchdown pass from the Patriots to secure the win, and the fans and players stormed the field.
